The Lakes, Walsall offers specialist dementia care and we are currently recruiting for dedicated and caring Healthcare Assistants to join our team.

We offer:

Rate of pay from £10.45 per hour

Full and Part time positions available up to 48 hours per week.

Shift pattern 8am – 8pm days and 8pm-8am nights

The key responsibilities of our Healthcare Assistants include:

– Provide person centred care and personal care to residents in all aspects of their daily living.

– Supporting residents with individual needs such as assisting at meal times, dressing, bathing and all aspects of personal care in accordance with their individual care needs.

– Contribute fully to team working, responding positively to colleagues and undertaking all reasonable work instructions promptly.

– Understand personal responsibilities with regard to Health and Safety at Work legislation, particularly in relation to moving and handling of residents and fire safety and evacuation procedures.

Activities Co-ordinator – Waters Edge Care Home

We are looking for a new Activities co-ordinator to join our team based within Waters Edge Care Home.

Working Monday-Friday 10am – 4pm plus occasional weekends for special events.

Salary is £10.90 per hour.

Activities co-ordinators deliver and facilitate purposeful activities that provide emotional and mental stimulation to our residents in order to improve their wellbeing and quality of life

To develop and complete life history profiles that shape activities to the needs of the individual.

To facilitate and plan, for each resident, reminiscence activities that are meaningful and relevant.

Direct, facilitate and guide the care team in the delivery of activities

To develop individual care plans that reflect and promote resident choice.

To work with the Activities team from other services to establish an active and engaging programme of events across the calendar year

Promote the understanding of Reminiscence and its positive impact on Dementia care.
