We are looking for a dedicated and creative Senior Cook to join our catering team at Lakeview Care Home. The ideal candidate will help ensure our residents receive a well-balanced, appetising, and varied diet, tailored to their individual needs. As a Senior Cook, you will be involved in meal planning and ensure the highest standards of food hygiene and preparation are maintained.

Location: Lakeview Care Home
Salary: £12.50 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
– Lead in menu planning and preparation, using your creativity to provide a varied selection of meals. Maintain a 4-week menu cycle.
– Ensure that only fresh foods are used, and that all foods are consumed within their “use by” dates.
– Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, adhering to the Food Hygiene Regulations and the Food Safety Act.
– Supervise and delegate tasks to other kitchen staff as required.
– Support new staff with a comprehensive induction and regular reviews, communicating any concerns to the Catering Manager or HR department.
– Adhere to all Safeguarding, health & safety, infection control, fire, and other legal requirements.
– Report any health & safety hazards, accidents, or incidents involving residents, staff, or visitors.
– Participate in monthly infection control audits and contribute to action plans.
Requirements
– Experience working in a kitchen or food preparation environment, preferably in a senior role in a Care Home setting.
– Strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations.
– Ability to lead a team and manage tasks independently.
– Passion for creating nutritious and varied meals.
